Enterprise Project Management Implementation & Upgrade
RGD Associates assisted a Federal agency refine its implementation of Microsoft Project Server 2003 and is also assisting with the upgrade to Microsoft Project Server 2007. Microsoft Portfolio Server 2007 is also being implemented to provide full life-cycle portfolio and project management.
Disaster Recovery Plan
RGD Associates provided project management services to plan and manage a Disaster Recovery Planning exercize for a major Crown Agency. The fixed price engagement was completed to the full satisfaction of the client. The 5-person team was publicly commended by the client CIO for the professionalism and quality of deliverables. The deliverables included: Assessment of the Current State, Gap Analysis, Compliance Assessment, Detail Design, Executive presentation, detailed implementation plan, cost model and staffing model.
Livelink Upgrade
RGD Associates developed the project charter, detailed work breakdown structure and resource plan for the upgrading of Open Text Livelink from Release 9.1 to 9.5 for a financial services organization. Provided briefings to all stakeholder communities to minimize the impact on the organization. RGD Associates subscribes to a "no surprises" philosophy.
Study of Alternatives
RGD Associates performed a study of alternatives of Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solutions for a financial services organization. The SDA included identifying primary alternatives, developing and issuing a Request for Information (RFI) from the vendors, evaluating the RFI responses against predefined, weighted criteria and obtaining feedback from existing users of the preferred solution, again using a questionnaire.
Product Integration & Development Planning
RGD Associates developed a detailed WBS and resource plan for a pre-eminent, world-wide system integrator for the development, customization and deployment of a national survey management system that included hardware, software, custom development, integration testing, deployment and post deployment management and support.
Program Office Management
Set up and managed a program management office for a pre-eminent, world-wide system integrator that included governance services, proposal development and submission, resource management using a pool of over 19 IT companies and 1200+ resources. The portfolio represented over $50 million of very diverse projects.
Implemented Enterprise Project Management
RGD Associates completed an Enterprise Project Management implementation including: identified user requirements, developed a configuration design, installed, implemented, deployed Microsoft Project 2003 Server and delivered training to executives, project managers, resource managers and team members across a financial services IT organization of over 350 personnel. Post deployment, RGD Associates provided ongoing governance and administrative support. The configuration design included a multi-layer security model that defined who could see and do what, user views for all stakeholders and the design and development of business intelligence analysis of project and resource utilization data using Microsoft Analysis Services. The solution included Microsoft Project Server, SQL*Server, Web Access, Project Professional and SharePoint Services for document, issue and risk management. Completed on schedule and below budget.
e-Commerce
Planned and managed a $10+ million dollar e-commerce implementation for a pre-eminent, world-wide system integrator for a federal government client. The project team included the prime contractor and seven sub-contractors and the client team, represented over 160 personnel. The 1-year project was delivered within budget and on time to the day. The solution included hardware, commercial customized software and custom developed software.
Infrastructure
Planned and managed a move of all IT infrastructure for a major computer services company. The client, a major federal government agency, moved one of its operations from Ottawa to Summerside, Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. The move included all desk-top PC's, printers, hubs, routers and servers plus some ancilliary office equipment. A swing operation was build in Ottawa to maintain operations while the move occurred. The challenge was not just the complex move but managing interfaces and coordinating logistics with the PMO and other service providers and suppliers.
